Dark Carousel is the best Dark book Mrs. Feehan has written in a long while. We seem to finally be back to the original roots of the series that made so many fans fall in love with the Carpathians.Tariq and Charlotte are the epitome of perfect and beautiful Carpathian Lifemates. These two characters are amazing on their own and once she accepts to Carpathians she is even better, which makes them together, amazing.Spoiler alert in this paragraph.I absolutely adored the children in this story and the little twist that come along with Liv. I completely disagree with some other reviews stating that they are worried this series is going to go into a pedophiles territory. Mrs. Feehan specifically states there is nothing sexual in Val's mind towards the child. This is very similar to how she introduced Sklyer and Dimitri. Both girls were to young to be claimed and, unlike Sklyer, Liv couldn't be claimed yet at all.I did wish that Genevieve was in this story a little bit more, but I am sure we will get plenty of her when she gets her book as she is psychic so she is bound to get her own eventually. I also do miss some of the other Carpathians that are always in the Carpathian Mountains. Every book that they are not in I always feel as if there are main characters missing from the story.I was worried at the beginning that this book was going to follow the repeated pattern of the previous handful of books lately and have more sex scenes in it than story scenes; this was not the case though. This book was story filled and the story told was amazing. It was nice to feel like like this story got back to the heart of the series with the main antagonists being Vampire and not Mage or Lycan. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the Mage and Lycan stories however, it was a nice change of pace to have the story go back to what we initially fell in love with.Overall, this story was a phenomenal story and definitely worth the read. I would reread this one again in a heartbeat.
