I second the sentiments of the previous reviewer, and then some. In your lifetime, only a handful of artists/groups touch your very soul, and this unique band does that, for me. Their music resounds with utter, naked sincerity, and the lyrics are just phenomenal, heart-stopping- on their own, prose of the highest order, but when combined with the drop-dead purity of the vocals and the music they convey much more than mere words can- they capture and express the ineffable- right here, right now, full stop.I bought this album shortly after it came out. I've listened to it many times since and played it for others. Every song is lovingly crafted, perfect in its own right. The music is chameleon-like, reflecting and deepening whatever you're feeling, whatever's happening in your life. It's multifaceted, like life itself. It can express joy, or irony, or heartache (while helping to heal your broken heart). Although not even REMOTELY similar stylistically, this chameleon-like quality, utter originality, and ultra-personal, intimate feel and immediacy reminds me most of early David Bowie (Rock and Roll Suicide, Aladdin Sane, Ziggy Stardust, Oh You Pretty Things, etc).I believe in Cedar Falls... get this album and I think you will too...MAGIC.
