I played the CD quite a bit--liking only two or three songs, but letting it play through to see if I warmed up to any others--and found that after a while I liked all the songs, except one, "Young and on Fire," which is not bad but not as good as the rest. What I like most about Cruzados is the way that the lead-guitar riffs wrap themselves around and blend with the vocals, especially in "Summer's Come, Summer's Gone" and "Chains of Freedom." Maybe it's just because I am Hispanic, but the songs give me goose bumps, even after many, many listens. "Last Ride" is impossible for me to hear without tapping my feet; same is true for "Bed of Lies." Also, the songs are beautifully constructed and produced. I mourn the passing of this outstanding 1980s band. I wanted a lot more from them.
